New Found Love (NFL)
I love football.
Most people enjoy the game, but I really love it. The complexity of the game, the beauty of a successful play and the familial atmosphere that surround the game are just a few of things that I love.
I did not always feel this way. I did not grow up in a family full of boys. I did not grow up attending football games every weekend, so how did I end up here? I do have a father and a brother so I was exposed to football at a young age. My dad loves to watch the game on Sundays, but he was never a die-hard fan of any team. My brother plays football and is actually really good at it despite my mothers constant concern for his well-being.
For me, it all started with University of Southern California (USC). When I was looking at a college I wholeheartedly wanted a university that had a thriving football program. To an outsider like me from New York, Trojan football seemed alive vibrant and combined with amazing academics and perfect weather; I was hooked. Little did I know that Trojan football was not only alive and well, but a cult that I bought into the second I decided to come to this prestigious university.
I could not have been happier.
Attending games in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is something that is solely unique to USC students. The walls of that stadium have seen unbelievable events and contain unrivaled history and tradition. The experience every Saturday is unmatched and something that I look forward to year round. For me, gameday is a holiday.
While tailgating is fun, it is not the main reason that I look forward to gameday. There is something really special about watching a play unfold right before your eyes and it working out just as well if not better than expected. There is nothing like having a player take it to the house on a kickoff. There is nothing like getting a touchdown in the fourth quarter to beat University of California at Los Angles (UCLA). There is nothing like seeing, linebacker, Cam Smith intercept the ball on three different occasions against a team we were not expected to beat. There are so many special moments that happen in the walls of the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that rival pro moments.
So what drives me to keep pursuing this game that I will never actually play? My passion to understand every aspect about one of America’s favorite past times and my desire to be a part of something a million times bigger than me are the two main reasons that I want to work in the National Football League (NFL). But on a more personal level my love for the game of football and the camaraderie that surrounds the game is the reason that I want to pursue a career in it. I want to help contribute to someone’s favorite moment at a game or find out a funny fact about a player that makes a fan laugh.
Who would not want to talk about something you love all day everyday. Football has such a following and teams have unbelievable fan bases. I would love to share stories and interviews with fans considering I am a fan myself.
But I have a problem.
I do not know everything there is to know about every player. I do not always know who my friends and colleagues are talking about when they mention a player or an event in the league. I often find myself struggling to keep up because I just came into this field that some have followed since they were in diapers.I am surrounded by such amazing and smart people that I sometimes feel behind in my knowledge, but my love for the game and the sport of football has not been diminished. I have a desire to learn as much as I can about every aspect of the game, those who play it, those who pay for it, those who judge it and anyone else involved in the NFL.
They say if you do something you love you will never work a day in your life and if I get the opportunity to work in the NFL I know that I will never have to work a day in my life.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
